Trojan 20

Have the opportunity to buy #216705 Trojan 20. Looked at the gun had no case color small small scratches. The gun seems all original. Anyone have an idea of what I should pay for the fine shotgun.

What is the asking price? We'll tell you if it is a fair price.

The guy asked me to offer a price. Guess he wanted me to buy and sell the gun. I offered him $1500 he wasn't sure.

How about the condition of the screws, dents or dings in the barrels, cut barrels, tight on face, - there are a lot of things about even a Trojan that play heavily in the value of the gun.

The barrels measure the proper 26, real tight on face. There where two two small bings in on the barrels.

$1,500 is not all too far off for a 20g. Trojan in any sort of condition. This one might be valued at less than that if there are no case colors remining. It really depends on what the condition of the metal is in. Is it plum or heavy patina? If the gun is 100% operational, has good screws, good wood and bores then you are in the ballpark. It is hard to touch a Trojan 20 that is complete for less than $1k.

At $1500 you will not lose money on the gun provided there are no hidden horrors . Minimal cleaning , etc might even improve that number but tread lightly. Good luck with it! Andy

Give me a break where are you going to buy a 20 for 1500 it would have to be a turd. If it is in decent shape 1500 would be a great price, you will love the Trojan I have a 16. But make sure its not a piece before you buy. Good luck ch the barrles can be undented most likely.

But "Hey" i'm just a opinionated flatlander.

I think the others are right in the ball park. I am curious as to the two small bings in the barrels. Do you mean scratches, dents, areas of pitting etc.? I am not used to the term, "bings", when referring to firearms terminology. Are they inside or outside? As I hear so often on this site photos can tell a lot.

edward mccay 02-03-2013 04:54 PM

Thanks for the reply. They are two small dents can only see them on the outside.
