Waterfowl on a duck gun---

Most times I see 10 and 8 gauge guns with the standard upland birds engraved on these big guns in most grades. My new to me 8 has waterfowl on all three panels. The only issue is they are way to fat to fly LOL.

I have a Julia's catalog with another that has ducks on all three vignettes. Very cool.

My 4 frame E 10 has a woodcock on the floor plate and it is way out of place.

That has always gotten me how the No. 2 Ithaca NIDs have a quail on one side and a snipe on the other, whether a .410-bore or a 10-gauge. Here a 28-gauge and a Super-10 --

A Magnum-10 --

I've recently spotted a couple of late Magnum-Frame No. 2s with the duck from the No. 4s on one side --

but they still have a snipe on the other --

More birds too fat to fly, on my GH 8ga.
Ser# 156970
I suppose if they are that fat and can fly, you need an 8ga to take them down. Lol

charlie cleveland 05-23-2020 12:23 PM

you got it right you need a big gun to take down those big birds....thus the 8 ga born...charlie
