New to this site...Upstate NY...PR 28ga
I just got my first PR 28ga w/ Q1 & Q2...I've been dreaming of this gun / day for a long time now. I'm new to this site and happy to be hear. I hope to contribute to this group and the threads on this forum.
A little about me...I own, breed, trial and hunt my Brittanys for more 35 years. I also like upland hunting, fly fishing, skiing, golfing and anything to do with outdoors. John |
Congrats on the PR and welcome aboard !

Welcome John! I just got a Brittany this summer and have been working with him.
|
John,
Do you know the Janowskis in Webster, NY. They own, show and hunt Brittanys. I have had the joy of hunted over a few of their dogs a couple times. |
Hey Mills...thanks and good luck with the pup. IMHO, the Britts are the best....good hunters, good family dogs and extremely devoted and want to please their owners all the time.

Here he is. Sherwood. He really has been a great all around dog so far, or at least we have hopes he will. He has a lot of spirit and can be hard headed. He is slowly picking things up though
|
I know a Jarosinki that have Brittanys up that way but not Janowskis
|
BTW a 28 gauge is a great Parker to have. I have one and want more, in good time though.
Hope you will join PGCA. There are lots of bird dog fanatics on here |
Welcome. I think you will find the Q1/Q2 very effective on grouse.
Best, Jay |
Hey Mills...just joined PGCA...getting there.

Opening Day...I like all good bird dogs....who doesn't like to watch a good bird dog work and do what they were bred to do.

John,
Welcome. I'd be suspect of a guy who didn't love the breed he owned, bred and trained...no matter what the breed. Brits are wonderful dogs (and that's from a dedicated Gordon Setter owner/hunter of over 30 years). There's nothing quite like taking a bird over your own dog with a Parker. |
John, you have certainly landed at the right spot if you appreciate Parkers. The most friendly, knowledgable, and dedicated group of guys( and gals) you will ever find. We all love pics of guns and dogs, and hearing of your exploits. Welcome
|
Welcome John! You have joined a great organization!

From age 3 to age 73, I have always had a bird dog. ln order, Irish Setter, Irish Setter, English Setter, English Pointer, English Setter, Springer Spaniel, Springer Spaniel, German Wirehaired Pointer. Guess which is the best retriever, bird finder, most loyal, most lovable? Yup, you got it, the last one. Of course the next one will surpass all of them in all categories. However, let me tell you, retirement will change everything. My Wirehair, Eva, was with me 24 hours a day for her entire life. That is a real change, one that we all should experience. Don't enter retirement without a bird dog.

Welcome to the forum. We like double guns and bird dogs here.
Here is Bert the pointer in a cattail marsh at 20 degrees and Fielder the setter in the woods , both are Parker therapy companion dogs. Being therapy dogs I’m looking forward to taking them into a steak house. I’m way out in fly over country. |
