Repro 12 gauge DHE 2 barrel set

I have not seen many 12 gauge repro guns trade hands and was wondering if I could get a value check on a 12 gauge 2 barrel, 26 IC/Mod, 28" Mod/Full, pistol grip, splinter, sst, new in case with cover. I see them listed for $5400 to $5900. My guess is more like $5k? If you have a very candid response on a recent trade and don't wish to share it on the forum please shoot it via PM.

Thanks all

Brian,
I think the "want" price might certainly be 5K to 6K on these guns but the actual "get" price is in the 4K to 5K range. I purchased mine for 4K a few years ago and felt that I paid a very fair price. It is the exact gun you described. Having said that, I believe 12ga repro's are just like 12ga originals..... Hard to sell for the maximum "want" price.

Every 12ga PR that I have handled, which has not been all that many, has been a particularly well made gun even amongst the Repros..wonder if there's any merit to that observation on a large scale?

If the figure in the wood is very good, I'd say $5,500 is a good price. There aren't that many 12ga. Two Barrel sets around, and for an unfired one, you'll pay a premium.

Someday in the not too distant future like maybe tomorrow, we'll be saying I can't believe I didn't buy 12 gauge two barrel Repros with factory cases at $5000.

Thanks for the great reference and that is a great example of the market today.

I love my 12 gauge reproduction, it's unbelievably light, coming from a 12 gauge ruger red label that's probably around 8lbs. It's the only gun I've hunted with so far this season. I've been shooting nothing but RST spreader shells, since that's what I shoot out of my Damascus GH its easier to just have one shell on hand. I'm going to try and get another one before next season, preferably a pistol grip one choked imp cyl/mod.

Although I would be touting some configuration steeped in 16 & 20 ga barrels due to my affinity for such.

I think the case could easily be made that a 12ga two barrel set choked Q1/Q2 & IC/MOD along with 3" chambers would arguably be the most versatile field gun that is offered save the SCC.

What a keen revelation! The SCC offers all the versatility of the 2-barrel set -- only more of it . . . and doing it without being cumbersome.
