BP Adjustable Charge Drop

I’m finally getting around to installing an adjustable charge bar on my MEC 600 Jr markV.

The directions read as if the adjustable charge bar must be assembled. It appears to be fully assembled.

Is there a need to disassemble, adjust and reassemble?

I’m confused.. as is often the case. :)

Brett,
There is no adjustment or assembly. Essentially, you remove the bolt that operates as a slide catch in front of the existing mec bar. It may also hold a pro check. You transfer the new adjustable bar with the bolt and pro check.

In terms of the adjustable bar, there is no adjustment. I recommend to use a good digital scale and check those drops for safety.

Brett, in my years as a firearms and reloading dealer, I do not recall ever having to assemble a new adjustable bar. I recommend you set the bar according to the instructions for the weights you want to throw and install it in the press and make a dry run (not actually loading hulls) and drop a cycle and weigh the results.

Oops, I see Dean beat me to the draw.

My advice I gave recently in another post: record settings in a book for each different powder and the grains thrown. When you have to use it again it saves a lot of time. But you must check it before assuming it is still correct, but will be close if not on the money.

Same for shot, as it will vary from one size to a different size.
