New parker Owner in New England

Hello,
I am quite excited to have joined the site and community. I was lucky enough to do so with the addition of a new (to me) 1916 Parker VH 12ga with 28" barrels on a 1 1/2 frame. It has a yellow metal badge on the belly of the stock that I am looking to find out more about and will be delving the threads here. This is my first ever doubles gun and I can not wait to get it afield for small game and then birds this fall! I have become consumed with this site and the knowledge shard here and say thanks in advance as I learn more about the new obsession. |
Nice gun and congrats!

I have the same basic gun, only 11 years newer.
Best feeling 12ga SxS I've ever held.... Enjoy it! |
Thanks Andy and Joe.
I thought it was time to step up from the ol' 870 express and what a step I took! |
Your gun looks to be in great shape, nice find. The little gold shield on the bottom of the stock common to most all Parkers, some folks had their initials engraved there.

Thank you for the information. I think that will a nice touch as this one is staying in the family for as long as possible! |
Welcome Scott - that’s a nice VH!
Where in New England are you? There’s a bunch of us New Englanders here in the PGCA. . |

It looked in good condition and felt good, fit well. I spent a long time thinking on it and I am thrilled to hear that I may not have been wrong in my guess work. I live in Worcester Ma. |
Howdy neighbor - I’m in Andover.
Keep an eye on this site for when we’re planning a get together to shoot clays. Better yet, join the PGCA for only $40 annually and keep abreast on a lot of activities. And the benefits of membership far outweigh the cost of admission. . |
Hello Neighbor.
I will look into the PGCA right away. Clays sounds fun. |
