Just thought I would alert our members to this gun. Hope that is within the rules!

That's a real nice one! Has been bone color cased from the pics. Nice touch. SXS Ohio

So, would those of you who know the Reproductions say that is a fair price? I ask only because I located one with a straight grip and two triggers and am interested in purchasing it.

Rich Anderson 03-13-2019 05:28 PM

I don't think it's far off considering the condition. All things considered I'd rather have the straight grip gun. I have owned several reproductions in 28 and they are a dream to carry and shoot.

They have had that gun for quite some time. I don't understand why someone would go to the trouble of re heat treating, and not refinish the wood , or muller the borders.

2 triggers and straight grip for five grand is fair. If the barrels are 28", it is a steal. Why wouldn't Tony mention bone hardening if it were done? Are we sure?

Dean Romig 03-13-2019 07:14 PM

It sure looks like a Bachelder color case hardening job to me... Oh, and by the way - If it had a straight grip it might be on its way to my FFL guy right now.

Looks like Skeuse colors to me. But what do I know?

It has been re-colored by bone charcoal method.

To me, wood appears to have been stained and refinished. I don’t see the shine of the typical piano finish. I doubt Brad did the work. He would have definitely done the boarder.
