Look at these little beauties I lucked into recently. 6 1/2 boxes of vintage 2 9/16" paper. Man they are gonna smell good. They are probably worth more to a collector but what the heck!

I was out this afternoon shooting my 12 ga. live bird gun with paper shells.
There is no smell like that! |
I remember November mornings in the 1950's when I left the house from the kitchen door on my way to grade school, that wonderful smell in the early frosty air.

nice shells hope you get a bird with every shot...dean them were good days....charlie

Sweet! I have about five boxes of 16 gauge paper shells. They were my dad's and I just can't bring myself to shoot them.
|
Buy some RST paper loads. Than you can enjoy the aroma and save the family airlooms. Kill two birds with one stone.
|
Good score. I'd shootem too! Every one of them, except the Mark v's; those things are too stout for my 16ga.
|
Just out of curiosity are those Canucks red (looks like it in that opened box)? I know there's lots of affection for purple 16's, but the paper shells I have are Winnys (red) and Remingtons (green); my dad shot mostly Remingtons and green will always be the proper color for 16 gauge shells to me!
|
I enjoy the rich and historical aroma of a spent paper hull. I hunt almost exclusively with RST paper shells.

The Canuck's are orange-ish red. I also got quite a few .410, some 2 7/8" 10 gauge, and a big ole 8 gauge.
