barrell markings

hi everyone, anybody know what these marks are on bottom of twist barrell.....letter t in circle, letters a,l,e thanks for any help,

Hello Brian. You probably mean the barrel flats are stamped with a T (upper case) with a crescent above and below it. This is Parker Bros. stamp identifying the barrels as "Twist".
A T in a circle is the stamp identifying the barrels as "Titanic Steel" which didn't arrive on the scene until 1898 and were the standard barrels for the D or Grade 3 guns. As far as the other marks are concerned we will probably need a picture to be able to see exactly where they are and what their significance is.

Brian,
I recently purchased a lifter with those same letters. Did you ever get any feedback regarding your gun? Mine is in the 23000 serial number range.
