Last day of first Dove season in AZ

Plenty of birds left! We took last weekend off and sat behind our tables at a gunshow. We went out today around 6:30 and we're limited out by 8am. Shot a few Eurasion and decided to save the rest for the weeks ahead. I shot my VH 20, Dale shot his latest acquisition, an Ugartegia 410. I hope I spelled that correctly? Don't worry Phil, there are plenty left. We'll wait for cooler weather when you come up, and fill up the buckets like we did when Chris Dawe was with us!

Thanks Charlie, just great way to end first season. I can hardly wait for quail to start! Things look promising.

Doves with a .410 is really impressive!

It's fun with the 2 1/2" #9s. We shot them opening week. Dale Medders (a fellow member) was on fire today!

Alright I assume they’re separated by type Mourning on the right White Wing in the middle and Eurasian on the left . Am I correct ? Regardless quite impressive !

Looks Like a great day of shooting. Chris I had a delivery up North on Monday. My brother George and I shot my regular farm. Shot one of my Remington DEO 12 gauges, Parker SBT, and 2 20 ga long barrel’s. A LC Smith and my Parker both with 32” barrels
Nice mixed bag of Pigeons, Eurasians, Whitewing, and morning dove.
I purchased 14 flats of Remington Premier Pigeon loads from an estate. Those
1 1/4 oz nickel Plated 7 1/2 were way more hen I needed. George and I shot one box each and then went to lighter loads.
See you soon.

Thanks 6pt-Sika. Actually we separated our limits, mostly Mourning with a couple White Wing each. I set my Eurasion in front of the bag. In two weeks we'll be shooting Eurasion only with 410. I'll post a picture.
Phil, the Eurasions came in thick yesterday around 8:30. When you come up we'll set up in the middle by the tall palms. Bring a variety of arsenal, including your 410. I think this will be a good year for Eurasions. I've been noting the flight patterns. We left early yesterday, or we would've had the normal pIle of Eurasions! Looking forward to your visit Phil!

I’m gonna be a little nosey ! How hard is it out there to get in with a rancher/farmer to shoot Eurasians for maybe a week ? I’ve been trying to talk a couple friends into going out to AZ or NM for Eurasians . I’d wanna drive out so I could bring four or five guns and shells .

We've had no problem shooting at the farms or dairies we shoot at. Some we ask, some we know the owner. Here are some pictures of a place we've shot at for years until the city annexed it. Dale, myself along with friends and fellow members Phil Carr, Chris Dawe, and the late Dr. Larry Spratling. This is a normal Saturday morning shoot. I could cover my tailgate with birds. We're shooting just across the road now, outside city limits, but the land is being bought up and developed. We may have to drive further than just around the corner in a year or so. Definitely worth the trip Craig!
