Heard good reports over on the 16 ga forum, no personal experience.

Killed Canadian geese this year and Snows last year with them. no complaints.

I bought a case of the lower pressure Boss copper plated bismuth recently, no. 5s. These lower pressure loads are loaded with fiber wads instead of plastic shot cups. I am in the process of pattern testing them in several of my duck guns. So far I have patterned them in a SuperFox and a L C Smith 3E. I intend to make my findings public, in some way or another, after I finish. I am also doing penetration testing as I pattern test.

I can say now that the patterns are extremely consistent, and would be deadly at the 40 yard distance at which I am testing, and even further. i fully expect that the plastic shot cup loaded loads (at higher pressures) would pattern a good deal tighter, and the helpful lady at Boss confirmed to me that they will.

I'm impressed with them so far, though I haven't had the opportunity to use them on ducks. At $1.23 per shell delivered, they may turn out to be a heckuva deal for those of us who want lower pressure duck loads for our vintage guns.

Used on plenty of canvasbacks this season. Good patterns

I went on there website and couldn’t find anything you would call low pressure. For 16 gauge for example, all they list is 1350 FPS loads that are clearly not low pressure. Maybe they are just sold out and don’t list them.

They do not list them on their website for some reason, Matt. I heard a rumor about them and called. The lady I spoke with was extremely knowledgable about their products, including the lower pressure load. I asked specific, technical questions and she answered them all.

They run about 8500 psi, and are able to do that by using fiber wads instead of plastic shotcups. I have begun pattern testing them in two guns, so far, and am getting consistent 66-70 % patterns, with very nice and even 20" cores. I would expect the plastic shot cup loads to pattern tighter, and the lady at BOSS assured me that they do. I intend to pattern test them after finishing with the lower pressure ones. I'm not worried about the 10,000 psi, that they reportedly are, in these two guns. But, I've got a few other vintage S X Ss I'd like to try for ducks and would prefer the lower pressures in them.

I have shot them for two years at geese and have not had a cripple. I have missed more than my share of birds but I have not lost one. They have all been killed in the air or dead when I got to them. I have used 3 inch number twos out of either a Heavy Duck or ugly black Italian plastic. Besides their Instagram page is fun to read.

Sara is the lady to talk to at Boss. The low pressure 16's are not listed, but are available. Orders over $100 have free shipping. Split the order with a couple friends-comes in a bulk pack of 100 shells. We will divy them up--I only want 20-25 to use on pheasant when on Federal or waterfowl production areas.

Great to hear! Are they 2 3/4 or 2 1/2?
