Well the sun does shine on my side of the street. I just picked up my Uncle's collection, and I find I am the proud owner of a 1907 Prussian DH SxS. that has 2 set's of barrels, one 28" and the other 30". Don't know choke's as I don't have a gage. They are numbered to the receiver, so they all came together.
Sadly, it has been used, and repaired, but I guess that is whar they were made for. Now I have a couple of questions.
Given it current condition, I would like to make the correct decisions on how to proceed. I could just clean and oil it, and use as is. Or I could make some repair/replacement of damaged stock. Or if it were desirable enough have restoration work performed. I have read that that will lower the price, but would improve the looks and keep it functioning for years to come.
What does the old hands out there have to say. I want to; Ask twice, fix once.

Joe, Welcome to the forum and congratulations! That is a dandy first Parker which just needs a little love. I would recommend that you join the PGCA and take full advantage of all member benefits. Also, do not be in a hurry to do anything to the gun. Take your time to absorb all the wisdom and experience available here and make an informed decision when you are comfortable and confident. There are craftsmen on this forum who can make everything you need. Good luck!

I would have the but stock repaired by someone that knows what they are doing and leave the rest as is. Steel barrels. Good score.

First I am going to aquire the Club letter, and see what information that reveals. Then I will research those who can do work on the buttstock.
It appears that with a proper grade, although not original, buttstock, the old girl will be in excellent shape for taking to the field.
The more I learn about Parker shotguns, the more futunate I feel. :rotf:

A D grade two barrel set with a bad stock is a great find. Congratulations.

Welcome Battleship. From the pics you shared l would say that current stock does nothing to enhance the appearance or value of the gun. When you become a member you can access the the Members Only section of this site. There you will find parts for sale and a Want To Buy forum. You might find an original stock that can be fitted to your gun.

Yes, I have sent in my membership fee, as well as request for a factory letter. Looking forward to putting this shotgun back in shape.

We would like to know what the Letter has to say. You never know what surprises there may be. Congratulations on becoming a member.
