BP just raised the price of Cheddite Primers
In a continuing sign of the times Ballistic Products just raised the price of Cheddite 209 shotgun primers from $39.69 to $53.70. That's a 35% increase. It's not good news for the shotgun shooting sports.

From BPI regarding the price increase on Cheddite shotgun primers
"2022 Supplier Information: We have received our first shipment of primers from Cheddite for 2022. Cheddite has raised their prices due to their increased material, transportation, energy, production costs, and general inflation. Supplies of raw materials in Europe have been very erratic and they have no future visibility. Therefore, production numbers are unknown at this time. The metals market in Europe will continue to be turbulent throughout 2022. Cheddite has advised that their material suppliers will be requoting every quarter of the year. Cheddite does not know if prices and inventories will go up or go down in the coming quarters of 2022." |
How do you pronounce 'Cheddite'? Is it ChedEEEEET or ChedIIIIIIIte?

The Hodgdon Reloading Data Center is now showing recipes using Cheddite primers. I had read and believed they were similar to Win 209's for pressure. If you compare like loads on the Hodgdon site you will see a significant increase in pressure over the same load using a Win 209. It turns out they are more like Federal 209A or CCI 209 Magnums and should be treated as such by those who are trying to keep pressure low.

The dude at BP pronounces it "Sheddeetay" which is just too freaking weird for me.
