Steel

Quick question: Does anyone know what type of steel was used in making the actions on Parker Repoductions?
Thanks

Edgar Spencer would know better than anyone, he's forgotten more about metallurgy that I'll know in my lifetime. Send him a PM.

I could be wrong but I think it's 8620 or 4140 tool steel

Or Maybe the Carbon might be a shade higher. Perhaps 8625. (.25C NiCrMo) or 8630 (.30C NiCrMo)

Edgar, you and my brother John would really hit it off. He is an absolutely brilliant metallurgical engineer, and is so down to earth. He has worked/consulted all over the world.(too bad he is not as good looking as me)
