Parker-like II
Sometimes men make some nice things....simple, functional, but, uh, outstanding. We look these works and think "how'd he do that?...or maybe just "damn, that's good..."

For any of you trout bums (Or trout bum wannabees) here's a link to the neatest wood fly boxes I've seen.
http://flyfishingcreations.com/FlyBox.aspx Boxes are made by Jim Newland, who lives near Traverse City, MI. I teach with Jim at the Trout Unlimited Fly Fishing school each June. The Spaulted Maple box he's showing was made from a maple I cut down in my front yard. If anyone would be interested in the TU school, PM me. |
Very nice boxes... wonder if he could make one form an unsalvageable Parker butt-stock.
|
It can be done. One method is to use the sides of the buttstock to make a domed box. Requires some really careful layout and bandsaw work. You can make game calls also.
