Spent a few days exploring Colorado. Saw some incredible country and managed a few birds in the bag. Great time of year.

Shawn,

I always enjoy your posts! It's clear you have an affinity to the land you hunt and that it is more than just a place to shoot birds. I hope you have continued good weather and good hunts. (Also...great gun!!!)

That is a nice gun. I hope it serves you well for many years.

I was back in the shortgrass prairie yesterday running setter...gorgeous day with a high of 35. Found 4 coveys and just really enjoyed being outdoors with my bird dogs.

I've never had a chance at scaled quail, but it looks like your setter has them figured out. Beautiful dog. 35 degrees and sunny on the prairie sounds like a great day, especially with that nice gun and gorgeous setter. There's no sky quite like a high plains prairie sky...certainly not that blue. For the painter it's the only true case for using Ultramarine Blue right from the tube without mixing. Wow.
