Old friend
Took my VH 16/28 0-frame for a stroll this afternoon. I never get tired of carrying or looking at this one.

I love straight stocked Parkers or any other straight stocked double for that matter. That looks like the perfect upland gun and with beautiful wood. I'm thinking that it is a 16 bore VH. Am I right?

Very pretty. I wouldn't tire of that one either.

The gun letters as a capped pistol grip. The serial # is stamped in the wood under the trigger guard but given the wood and workmanship I think it was DelGrego who did the work. The case colors look original to me. Incidentally, although it is a 16, 0-frame it weights 6-lb, 5-oz which may be due to the density of the wood.

A straight stock 16 bore 0 frame is the ultimate American upland gun in my opinion. I'm sure some of the Fox boys will howl at that statement. Fox made some wonderful light small bores. But I have a passion for Parkers to the exclusion of the others. |
Yup...gorgeous! I'd never tire of her looks either

I agree, something about an O frame 16. I took 3 guns to SD for the pheasant opener. Hunted all 5 days exclusively with a 32" O frame 16 choked F/F. Just
could not find a good enough reason to get something else out. |
Where were you hunting in SD Randy? I was out there for 5 days too starting on the opening day and brought 5 guns. Parkers, Foxes and Lefevers. 16ga, through 28ga. Every one of them got a day afield. We were hunting a private farm about 5mi. east of Hitchcock.

We were hunting about 45 minutes west of Winner on a private farm. In general the birds were down quite a bit in that area but we did manage to get our limit with 4 hunters for the 5 days. The Grouse population seem to be up quite a bit and we did manage to bag a few of them as well. We had a good hunt.

Jay, that is a very nice piece of wood. Id DelGrego had done the colors you would know cyanide. They look original to me
