Just apply to your favorite gun and then take to the local car wash. Low cost case colors. Or if you have time instead of this product just tie a rope through the trigger guard and throw into a nearby pond. In a couple of weeks you'll have patina and colors just like this product provides!

I can't imagine this would hold up very well.

Some of their products in the right hands with the right techniques can replicate the look of case coloring relatively well. At least from what I have seen. But, it is only so durable.
Think about the Parker Repros and how quick their “colors” wear. That was just a staining process to simulate colors. Just like this is. |
The saddest aspect of the video is how the steel was polished. I'd rather view a hanging. The product, on the other hand, is intriguing. I might try it to turn some of my sows ears into silk purses.

Wow! How much easier could it be to 'case color'your gun... you don't even need to remove the wood or disassemble the action.
This product will revolutionize the gunsmithing/restoration industry! . |
I won't tell what advice I received about case coloring my gun from a person who does case colors himself. One hint is that it won't cost me a cent.

"Double, Double. Toil and Trouble. Use This Stuff And Your Gun is Rubble!"
According to the video, this sludge is apparently good for screws, pins, wood and the overall value of any old gun. NOT!!! Anyone who uses this atrocious concoction on a good gun (like a Parker) should charged with defacing historical artifacts. In fact, use of it on ANY legitimate firearms should be a felony! Finally, the most offensive part of it all is that the jar label states "For Professional Use Only." ANY "Professional" who uses this goo is certainly NOT in the gunsmithing profession! |
I thought the music was good.
