I have shot a lot of 2 7/8" 10 gauge shells
As many of you know Scott K. and I shoot a lot of crows and we shoot a lot short ten shells at them each year. I have kept some records of my hunts and in the last 8 years I have fired 3385 2 7/8" 10 gauge shells (all reloads) at them through several guns. This is just at crows and does not include shooting at clays and waterfowl. How much are you shooting your 10's?

I’ll freely admit I enjoy fooling with the Ten’s more then the other gauges atthe moment  I would say I shoot maybe 500-750 at clay targets a year and most likely 100-150 of buck and slugs at paper each year . And a handful at feathered flying creatures and four legged cloven hooved brown rats .

i must say i only shoot about a 100 rounds a year now health has declined but my fondness for the short ten remains at a very high point....best turkey gun i ever fired.....charlie

I shoot my 10's a lot. About 1000 targets per year and ducks maybe 30 rounds per season. They are big fun. Shot my CH 10ga 30" with Bernard barrels last Sunday
Looking for a BH 10 and a EH 10/30. Got one??? |

That is impressive!

I do not keep a count, but based on my fiber wad purchases, I’d say I shoot about 500 rounds of short ten per year. All reloads. Waterfowl (not too many used this year) and the rest on sporting clays.

Not near what you have Pete, but I do enjoy shooting my 10 more than any other shotgun I have.

If I had more time to load I would shoot more. As it is 300+ per year through a Remington CE and an EM Riley 10. Both 32 inch 10 lb guns. Great fun and both really tight shooters. The CE must have been bored by Becker during his Remington days!!! Maybe wishful thinking but it sure shoots tight.
