Good on line guide to Parker Vise ?

Matching up EBay listings to TPS found many vise models listed for sale are not covered. Made so long no doubt the Parker Story chapter is a snapshot that covers a limited earlier period.

Like to get complete specs before I bid on something

All advise appreciated

William

The nuts in these old vises are often badly worn ( lots of backlash ) or cracked or broken. Buyer beware. Fresh paint can be deceptive.

That’s true, be much better to inspect in person or buy from a trusted source, considering I am looking for upgrade on a existing vise. Vise on that bench now jaws don’t meet properly.

Some of the Parkers have what appears to be machined steel jaws screwed into cast iron. Ought to be possable to remove them and machine a fresh surface. I can make a new nut for most things & take a lot of backlash out. Depends oh how the vise is made. Another reason to inspect.
