Neighbor's Parker Vise

1 Attachment(s)
I have recently moved to the rolling plains of North Texas. When we moved into our rent house, I noticed our neighbor had a very large vise mounted in his carport. Went by today and got a look at it and it turns out to be a very large Parker Vise. Will have to try and find the model number sometime, but here is a pic.

What are the claws in the vise meant to grab?

I've never seen one of those, but would love to find one at the flea market for $20-30. I'd snap that up in a second!

Yes, this is a pipe vise.

It's a 288 1/2. Supposed to weigh 200 lbs and hold an 8 inch pipe.

Bill, a 288 1/2 only weighs 118lbs. They have 5" jaws and a 6" opening.
