Action screws from CSMC
 

Has anyone tried these, any issues? I bought a set and the trigger plate screws dont match, I thought there might be some variations, but they dont even come close on three different guns, from Trojan to GH. Any reviews would be great!

When you say they don't match. What does this actually mean? Are they not timed, are the threads not correct, are the angles of the counter sinks different angles? Every time I've used them I've had to spend a lot of time custom fitting them, but finally did get them to work.

Brain Dudley is now making & selling most actions screws & I imagine they are of better quality overall. Keep in mind that his screws will need fitting as well. Hopefully he'll chime in here about the screws he offers.

The shafts are a wider diameter and the threads appear to be different. The other screws fit, I totally understand they have to be fit, but the threads should match and screw in, right?

There really was not any variation in the thread pitch of the trigger plate screws over the years of manufacture. So, I am not sure why you are having issues if in fact the screws you have are for/from a Parker.

I do sell Nearly all of the major action screws for Parkers. As well as the wood screws. I have new trigger plate screws that are high headed with no slots in them so that they can be properly fitted. I do also have some New old stock trigger plate screws from the factory that have slots in them and are slightly high headed. These need to be filed under the head to properly qualify them.

$5ea for my new ones and $10ea for factory NOS.


There really is not any point in messing around with trying to put used screws into a gun since they nearly never fit properly. I sometimes do it, but that is because I have over 100 used screws that I can pick through to maybe find a couple that fit the gun that I may be working on.

I have had a little trouble with them sometimes being a little off on the thread pitch in the past when I had used their stuff. But never where they would not thread in at all.

They are usually pretty good about taking stuff like that back.

I checked the diameters and the CSMC's are at .170 and the threads look different, the Parkers were right on at .164 with one at .163. I called them and they said they would call me back with a measurement on what they had.

I have had to turn them down just a bit to have them fit. Only reduced diameter, no issue with threads once they were smaller. I did this by chucking in drill press, and using a fine file, VERY lightly.

I thought about doing that, but the shaft in between the threads is .167, still larger than the originals.

I have found the CSMC screws to be overly soft.
