Cardboard Shipping Box

In preparing to send my SCC to it's new owner, I 'found' the cardboard shipping carton and can't figure how it relates to the takedown case and it's canvas cover ….. why have both ?

( trying to recall the day I took delivery is a tad frustrating. :rotf: )

Tony,

I had a Winchester 101 quail special. It had 2 shipping cartons. 1 box for the gun, barrels, choke tubes, etc. This box had separate cardboard compartment for the different pieces. Another box was for the case. The box for the was a typical brown cardboard color and the one for the gun was a whitish color.

Could the Parker repros have shipped with a separate box for the case?

The cardboard box is the shipping carton while the Emmebi case is for display and casual carrying to and from shooting/hunting events.

The Emmebi case would have shipped in its own cardboard box.

Got me to wondering,i remember picking up my repro 32 years ago and the gun was in the cardboard box and the case was in another box. Still have the gun box and paper work but not the box the case came in, that stayed at the shop. Had to dig out the box, it was in the loading room closet where things go to disappear.
