Beautiful Grade 4 Bruce - really nice!
Are there any Remington codes on the flats? Do you know who the initials are for? |

Thanks.
Yes. 1939 Rem rebarrel of a damascus gun. Missing the originals but the Rem barrels are beautiful. Well struck, perfectly fitted, twin real ivory beads, .032 and .008. Well contoured as shown following. No idea. |

Vey nice Bruce . This is a CHE 12 Live Bird gun

I like the duck, much better than the flying Turnips. My C's have a Stag on the floorplate. I never will understand that line of thinking. You wouldn't engrave a Mallard on your 30/06....would you?:nono:
Bruce, Turnips or not thats a nice 16 and what great chokes for the uplands. |
Beautiful gun and a 16 to boot! My DHE 16 is from 1905 and has Titanic barrels cyl/mod. Yeah, its got the flying turnips.

Very nice examples I appreciate you guys taking the time to post pictures---it helps with the Parker education. Thanks much!!!

engraver
Bruce,
I have a 1904 dh #2 frame 16/20 2 barrel set. The engraving is almost identical. Who was the engraver? |
Tom, in answer to your question, it is very rare that any particular Parker engraver can be identified. In this case, none can, and I doubt that the work was done by the master engraver at the time. I believe its journeyman level work. TPS lists the known engravers.
Two barrel sets are uncommon, and a two barrel 16/20ga #2 frame set would be particularly uncommon, for all I know, it may be unique. |
error
Bruce,
My gun is a 16/12 #2 frame. 16/20 wishful thinking!!! |
