Photos: 11 Aug 12 Lapeer MI SxS Shoot
On 11 August 2012 almost 40 brave souls endured another rainy day at Lapeer Michigan. Paul Harm put on one heck of a great despite the rain. There was a PGCA display with a mighty 8 Gauge on a #7 Frame and a 10 gauge on a #6 Frame both provided by Jeff as the center piece.

Mark, thanks for all the great pictures, but there was NO RAIN ! A slight mist for a minute or two, but that was it. I'd like to thank everyone who came out- it's you guys who make it a sucess. And I can't forget those that worked that day, especially Steve Baumstark - he was busy about every minute. Thanks to everyone.

Could someone tell me about the checkering toll John is working on .
|
You could give Jon a call can't remember all the details, I think it works on air. The little tool for cutting screw heads was neat, holds the screw in a small vise and then depending on the thickness of the slot you choose the templet and cut the head of the screw. It was neat and well thought out.

Steve,
Eric is correct in that if interested one should contact the vendor. Jon Hosford is an avid SxS shooter and gunsmith and makes some great gun-specific tools. I paid good money for his barrel thickness and dent remover tool sets. The above stated, the prototype Hosford checkering and screw head tools looked good. Based on using his barrel thickness tool, and loaning it to friends for their use, when Jon is ready to manufacture the new items you can bet they will work as advertised. Please know that when posting photos I have to be careful not to "promote" any specific product. That would be advertising for a commercial entity and against the rules. Since my work at this is voluntary I do however have the discression that if I think a product is crap I won't waste time photographing it! Respectfully, Mark |
I too have met with John and have and bought & used tools you speak of . I just wondered if he gave you boys a heads up as to when with the new stuff will be on the market. Thanks
