Powder Woes
My powder woes have been eliminated !
Still have about 6 or 7 pounds of SR7625 for the 10 gauge . Have several pounds of W296/H110 for the 410 . And now I have 24 pounds of Universal Clays for the 12, 16 , 20 and 28 ! Might pick up 8 of Unique and 8 of Green Dot in the next month or so just for the heck of it ! |
Sounds pretty good. I just bought 8lbs of 700x and a buddy of mine has another 8lb jug he wants to sell me. I wish I would have been around reloading shotshells when Imr 7625 was still available. Thats some LP stuff. I would have bought about 40lbs. lol
See you in the field! |

I think the one I have now I got from one of our distributers for $160-170 . Someone just last week sold an 8 pounder on this website for I think it was $275 . SUPPOSEDLY Hogdon has brought out a ball powder called W572 that's supposed to be a close replacement for 7625 , once I can get some from my distributers I'll give it a try and if it does as well as the claims I'm hearing I'll have to lay in two 8 pounders for my 10's . Seems the majority of my loading these days is for the short 10's anyway ! |

I just started shotshell reloading. Loaded for my 45 ACP for a few years and just bought a AH Fox Sxs and am hooked. These are the first off my press. Going to try them tomorrow at the local range. 2 1/2 12 gauge with 700x. 7/8 shot. Attachment 48180.

Those look real nice. Maybe you can find a Parker 10ga and load 2 7/8" shells - then you'd be having more fun than that little Fox.

Green Dot, Blue Dot, and Unique are all good powders for the 10ga at reasonable pressures.

Came across some WSL and Super Handicap this morning and picked up a few pounds. I haven't used ball powders in years. Would anyone would care to share the pros or cons of these powders. They are supposed to meter well but I have heard that the powder sometimes migrates past the wad.
