As good as it gets!

Wow...Yikes...Whew...(Okay, someone help me come up with another, better word!!). I'm not sure there is a better combination than: Parker-16 gauge-Bernard barrels.

I am always interested in these small bore Bernard barreled guns. About 16 were made in 16 ga, 12 in 20 and 2 in 28. I had accounted for three of the 16’s with two existent and one destroyed. Then to my surprise Steve Barnett had one come in unexpectantly at the Southern. In modest but unaltered condition, he had a price of $22,000 on it.

Like me he had not heard of any of the 20 gauges.

However, of the two 28 ga Bernard’s , a 26” and a 30 “ , he informed me that the 26” passed through his hands about ten years ago for $70,000. Nothing known about the 30”.

The white grouse still flies.

16 gauge

Bruce you do have some fine Hardware. I had a DH 12 Bernard on a 1 1/2 frame several years ago and let it slip away. Another Parker guy in Tx now owns but I wish I had kept it to at least be able to say" Hey I own a Bernard Barreled Parker " It was a nice gun " One of those "Why did I do that?" It's OK I've managed to pick up some 30" bbl small gauge I dearly love to own, shoot and write about in PP. Isn't that what it's all about!! As I age the expression "No Regrets comes to mind more often. Thx for sharing your fine Parker.

Again, thanks for sharing, what a beauty!

I say, how about that case!! Really makes the gun look great!! Ok I agree the gun is spectacular, and I'd love to shoot it! Bruce that is one fine 16 ga. looks good in her new home though!

Fantastic!

Small bore Bernard barreled Parkers make me think of that one CAH has with the ejector 26” 12 gauge with twin ivories. Now that’s a light little 12 and as I recall it’s on the 1-frame.

I hope the OP will forgive me for sort of tagging on here. I’ve recently inherited a DH 16 on the O frame with Damascus barrels. The Research Committee has just sent me my letter
(Thanks very much). But I really don’t know much about Damascus patterns and would appreciate any help in identifying the barrel pattern. A much more “used” gun than the OP gun!!

The barrels:

It is definitely four-iron crolle but I think we should let Dr. Drew identify the pattern.
