PB

Met a young Gent the other day and struck up a conversation around reloading which turned to my interest in low pressure loads. He proudly proclaimed that he was the owner of some PB and 7625. The next obvious question was, will you turn loose of any? This was met with a semi receptive response at best. In the end he did agree to turn loose of 8 lbs. Much to my surprise he showed up with 20 lbs of PB and has stated that he has some more for me when he can find it, he knows he has it, just not sure where. Hope to acquire some 7625 as well. Pretty good day IMO.

Sweet! There must be a little more lurking in dark corners out there. Looks as fresh as the day it was turned out.

Can’t say I’ve ever used PB in about forty years of loading . But even though I have 18+ pounds of SR7625 if your young friend had offered me twenty pounds of 7625 I’d scrape up the funds if it were priced within reason . Congratulations on your acquisition!!!

I used PB for years. Its greatest claim to fame is that, in 12 gauge, it was impossible to tell whether your bore had been fired or just cleaned. I don't know why I quit using it.

Randy, when it was announced that PB and 7625 were being discontinued, I bought up all I could. Probably have at least 40 lbs of each and no, I'm not selling/trading any!!

Of the four they discontinued PB , 4756 , 4759 and 7625 I used all except PB . Interestingly the three SR powders I used first in cast bullet rifle loads before I ever thought of using in shotgun loads . Although I don’t use 4756 much I wouldn’t mind finding another 8 pounds of that just in case the urge to use it hits me .

6-Pt, Shirk's was always great to deal with. Used them a lot when we lived in Kutztown. My old buddy "Rosie" still works there. Ron is still old school, no website or FB page. Just the classic paper dealer catalogs.
