Cheddite 10 gauge hulls

Do the Chedditte 10's work alright with the REM SP-10 wads ? Also will CCI209 and WIN 209's fit in the hulls correctly ?

Just from my own experience...If the hulls are brand new, I've found SP-10's to fit a little loose and would suggest a large flake powder like Red Dot to avoid powder migration around the base of the wad. Once the hulls have been fired a few times, the interior has roughened up a bit, and the SP-10's work well with all appropriate powders.

Thanks ! And how about primers ? I have CCI , WIN and REM 209's on hand most of the time and I'd prefer to use them should I buy some Chedditte hulls .

I disassembled a RST 10ga bismuth load and they are using the Remington SP-10 wad, they use Cheddite hulls. I have loaded once fired RST-Cheddite 10ga hulls with 7625 and WW-209's and not experienced any issues.

I switched from Cheddites to Remington's because my Remington would not close on the shells after a couple of firings. Even after going through a super sizer. My Remington has very tight chambers though and the shells were used in an EM Riley as well which has looser chambers. It appeared the rim diameter had expanded so they would not fully seat in the chamber......

I was under the impression that all cheddite hulls required the larger European primers. I have to use them in my Rio hulls. Rio makes their own primers that fit fine. I was also under the impression that cheddite hulls were straight sided and not tapered so SP-10's would not be the best choice. I'm sure they'd work OK but, as stated above, would be a bit loose.

I had a box of factory 20 gauge Rio's that I attempted to reload after firing, and tried CCI..Rem...and Federal 209's, but the fit was so loose that you could take them out with your fingernail. However, all of these primers worked well in Cheddite hulls. Are Rio's made using Cheddite hulls, or just a similar straight walled hull?

I believe Rio is a different hull ( i believe they manufacture most of their own components )

look for the stars on the brass for Cheddite hull no matter who loads them

That's pretty much the reason I asked as I was under the same impression 🤔

l have loaded a lot of RST (cheditte) hulls with WIN 209s and had no problem shooting them on clays (12 ga)
