Fall parker pages
Is it somehow possible that I am first to receive my copy here on the rolling plains of North Texas?
Doubtful, but Dean and the writers have outdone themselves as usual! |
Got mine in Ohio
Waiting in Pa!!!!
I haven't received my personal copy yet, just my carton of complimentary copies for contributors.
I'm pleased with the way this issue looks and reads. Thanks very much to all who contributed material. . |
Got mine in Michigan and I am usually the last person to get the PP even though it is shipped from northern Michigan...............
Received mine in the 2:30 Mail ,looks like another GREAT PARKER PAGES ! Good job to all those involved ,I just can't believe my Almost ,World Famous " Woodcock Pate"Recipe isn't in the Recipe Section :rotf::rotf: !
I'm usually 3-4 days behind everyone else, but I got mine in New Jersey today.
Got mine in Georgia today.
Delivered to the Lowcountry today. Excellent issue as usual. Dean, the photography on your Elliot's Skeet gun article was exceptional...........great job on the story line also.
Charles |
Also got mine in Georgia today and have read some of it and I am thoroughly enjoying every word! Thanks for a great Parker Pages. Bobby
The Parker Pages made it to Colorado today! I need to rest up from dove hunting before I open it.

Thanks very much Charles. I tried to do my best on the photography of that neat little Parker but the pictures were so small it is difficult to really see the detail very well. My fault because I assigned too many pictures per page and collectively they all just took up too much space. In a couple of weeks, after everybody has received his issue I will post those pictures here where everybody can enlarge them individually. . |
Dean I really enjoyed the article on the Skeet Gun ,I would Love to see the Floor Plate engraving ,4 Pheasants I am Guessing ? It is a Beautiful Gun ,if you managed to acquire it ,you are a Very Fortunate Man ! Thank You for the Great PP! :)
It's not for sale Russ. The owner and I covered that possibility quite thoroughly in our first meeting.
The floor plate is the cover photo. I only wish I had realized the quality of the picture wasn't up to my standards before I returned the gun. . |
Elliott Skeet gun
Dean, enjoyed the article on the find of John Ellioitt`s skeet gun... Could he be the brother of the famous Elliott family that started Elliott`s shooting park in Kansas City? J.A.R (Jim) the great live bird shooter, Robert S. (Uncle Bob) and Dave came west to Kansas City in the late 1880`s. I know they had a brother named John who never joined the venture. I believe John had a son
Jack who did come west to help in the family business... Best regards Trap3 |
I am sorry they wouldn't part with it Dean ,I am sure you would have enjoyed adding it to your collection ,she is a Beauty ! I should have realized the cover photo was the Gun must be an early Senior Moment ,at least I was right about the four Pheasants !
Randy, there is no family relation between the two.
J. A. R. Elliott and John Elliot spell their names differently. . |
Thanks Dean... wasn`t sure, thought the article had Elliot with two T`s.
Just saw a copy a little while ago. Great job again Dean!
And kudos to you Mike for your perceptive and timely solicitations for your "Parker Mystique" collection of contributions. And, may I add my thanks to each of the contributors to Mike's compilation.
. |
Job well done, Dean! As always
Great job as always Dean. Also a fabulous compilation of shorts from Mike Franzen, (The Parker Mystique), a true joy to read. Thank you Mike.
Has not gotten to the prairie of north east Mississippi yet, but we are all busy with the opening day of dove season and college football. Going to a shoot this afternoon watching football tonight. With use my 16 DHE with 28 inch barrels.
Great job, Dean. What is the story of the Parker pictured on page 34 with no caption, the more than strange Parker? Thanks.
That is the prototype .410 owned by the NRA Museum in Fairfax and featured in a recent Parker Pages.
. |
I guess it's time for a road trip to the National Firearms Museum to check on the .410 and the Invincibles.
I thought you were a weekly visitor there Bill...?
. |
The Remington Collector's Journal has been here a couple of days Parker Pages must be close.
The Pony Express Rider must have fallen off his horse as I've not received Fall 2017 Parker Pages. It's terrible living out here in the wild west.
The rider must be making the large loop since i have not yet received it in Western NY.
Brian I received mine about a week ago here in Fairport. The Parker Mystique article was most interesting. Thanks to all the contributors, well done!
I would like to read it, but...
I still don't have mine. I'm sure the ignorant city council of the "Capital of Resistance" (Charlottesville) has had the FBI confiscate all gun related magazines and investigate the recipients for crimes against humanity. I wondered why those people in black ninja outfits were hiding behind trees outside my house when I took the dog out at night.
Well Jerry, I received my personal copy on Tuesday and I'm in Massachusetts, the bastion of anti-gun sentiment, so there's hope for you.
. |
Brian
i got mine the day this thread started but- back when I lived up there, a letter from the school once took 12 days to get half way across town - the good news is - it eventually got there too late- but it got there :rotf: |
Still waiting in California, I did get a notice to re up my dues though.
Ken Received today Friday Thanks |
