Jacob Glahn, master engraver
Does any body have an example of Jacob Glahn engraving cir 1870 1875 at Parker bros. He was the master engraver at that time. maybe you could post photo's? thanks.

Gary; Take a look at 3215 on the top of page 17 of Serialization; it is also in TPS. I think this gun is generally attributed to Glahn. The dogs on the gaurd seem to be the best verification of Glan's work.

Austin,Thank you for that information, I looked at the serialization picture pg 17 will search the TPS for additional photo's. some of the old masters signed the lock plates, in places that it takes a glass to see. I have personally seen only one. regards Gary

I am familiar with an early Lefever AA grade that is signed by Glahn. I think I have some photos of the gun around here somewhere. When putting that gun side by side with some of the earlier high grade lifters it is clear they were executed by the same hand. |
