NEED AN IDEA OF VALUE??

7 Attachment(s)
Hey guys and gals,
I recently inherited a Parker side by side hammer gun. I am not a wall hanger or collector kind of guy, but a friend of mine that I work with is and really would like to own a Parker shotgun. His last name is Parker. (Kinda cool).
I don't want to rip him off or get cheated myself so I am looking for some help here.
serial # 29341
manufacturer date 1883
fame size 02
barrel weight 524 +-14
There is a "T" stamped I am guessing a 0 grade
with twist barrels. serial #17722
The gun is in really good shape in comparison to what I have seen. I am going to try and post some pictures.Attachment 57720

First off, 17722 is the order number. Barrel serial number is on the left side of barrel lug. What is the barrel length? Does it match the recorded? If so, from what I see, and if the bores are good, should command between$600.00 & $750.00. As a nice decent shooter.

Serial# match 30in barrels

The pre-struck barrel weight is 4 lbs., 14 oz. Parker used that broken "4" die for many years before replacing it.

I have not seen that "524" or any other number stamped in that position on the right barrel flat. Anybody have any ideas what it might mean?

Maybe the order book could shed some light on those numbers.

Inspectors stamp

That is not a bad gun for shooting. Maybe a bit less for collecting, but I would own it.

If you inherited it, why not just keep it? It is a decent gun, not really a collector piece in the condidtion category, but the straight grip adds a bit of rarity to it.

If you would be happier with the money, toss a price of $1,500 at him and see if he bites.

I am thinking of keeping it. This guy really wants it. I am torn.
