Dang. Doesn't work, it's a PDF. Basically no new news, not enough demand to open a new plant, and they're working 24/7 and not selling to major ammo companies but to reloaders. Don't mention an end in sight scenario

I have already started fishing more.

I went to Alliant powders almost exclusively starting in 2015 after Hodgdon kept telling us it was making/selling a record amount of powder and the problem was, people were hoarding. Another factor was that ADI in Australia reported that it had a "burn event" that took part of its powder production off line for about 2 years while the Aussie government investigated and process safety changes were implemented. ADI had been making the popular Hodgdon Clays powder (ADI #AS30N) along with others, and supplies quickly dried up. Fast forward to 2022 and I see that Alliant shotgun powders (Red Dot, E3, Clay Dot, American Select, 20/28, etc) are generally more available than Hodgdon powders. ?????? Those of us who reload for shotguns and look regularly at the sites can now build inventories of Alliant (the old Hercules) powders albeit maybe not what we've used in the past. Sure, cost/pound is greater but what else isn't more expensive nowadays?

You are correct on the supply of Alliant powders Frank. I just recently scored 16lb of 20/28 and 8lb of Extra lite. More expensive, yes, but have you filled your tank lately??

I just hit the buy button on 8 lbs Red Dot from Brownells. $ 319.67 to my door. Crazy expensive, double what I used to pay at the local gun shop.

The new Bourbon

Ha, there are guys at the local firehouse gun shows, that buy from sources like Brownnells and then resell at $50/$60/$70 a lb. AND, it always is gone a few hours into the show. Nice Guys, real friends of the hobby!

Bourbon, at the state store, comes in once a month and the people line up for an hour or more at the door, then wait until the stock person gets it onto the cart, might be 3 hours after store opening, to grab a the few bottles of Eagle Rare and 1792 available, to sell at twice the price. If people would stop buying at the inflated prices, it would all stop.

My buddy who trains pointing Labs, OK, Labs that point, likes Eagle Rare and I have to have a friend from Kentucky or Mich send me some for him, as he doesn't take money and both of my Labs that point, were given to me by him as I am their retirement home, so Eagle Rare it is. Here I am at 82, and now have the absolute best field dogs, but am having trouble getting them out enough. UPS kills me on the shipping, but it is what it is. Didn't mean to steal the thread, but wouldn't it be refreshing if we all played nice?? If this is out of line, just let me know, and I will delete it. It's easy to see why I have been called a curmudgeon by some. Ahhhhh Life is Good, then we Croak.

I am not near 82 but I am old enough to not put off buying the things I really want or want to do because of inflated prices. Life is short, if we are lucky we get to a point where we don't buy green bananas and wait for them to ripen.
