Model 12 a long wait.
After 35 years of looking at Model 12s, I finally bought one.
http://parkerguns.org/forums/picture...pictureid=9910 This has been only the second plain barrel field gun that I have had in hand that has not been blessed with a Cutts or converted.......I let the first one get away but couldn't do it this time. Sorry I wasn't able to rotate this photo. |
What gauge? We need more pictures.

Bill,
It's a 28ga. If you enlarge the photo, it might be easier to see. |
Unmolested plain 28 gauge model 12’s are few and far between. I stopped bidding on one at auction many years ago when it got to $800.00. At the time you could buy a nice 20 gauge for half that.
I have not seen one in the wild since. |
I have one that my grandfather bought for his daughter new. Rarely used.

If you'd like a non-matching pair of 28 ga. M12's in a Huey case, try this:

The person offering these for sale is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I won't attempt to describe the story behind these guns, or the other similar guns offered. He is open to offers, is all I'll say

Slick barrel 28 gauge field guns are not common. Nice find!
|
Sixty years of collecting Model 12s and I've only had one chance at an unmolested field grade 28, and was outbid for it at Redding's Auction in Gettysburg.
