"Old style" vs "New Style" parts interchangeability question.

When reading schematics, I noticed that some parts (such as the top lever) are listed as "old style" or "new style". Can an new style parts be made to work in an old style gun or vice versa? Also, which style are the Kodensha built reproductions clones of? Thanks.

No. They are not interchangeable in any way. This is in relation to the top lever mechanism and the sear springs.

The repros are modeled after late production guns.

Thanks. I was just curious. Was the design change for strength or cost cutting reasons?

Both really.

The Parker Reproductions were modeled after Jack Skeuse’s own Remington era guns which he sent over to be copied.
