14 3/4" LOP Repros
 

If you look around long enough you will frequently find 12 and 28-ga. double-triggered Repros with a 14 3/4" LOP -- enough of them to realize they are not an anomaly. I have attributed this to the factory installing a stock intended for a single-trigger gun on one of these longer-than-spec'd LOP double-trigger guns. Having said this, I can't ever recall seeing a 14 3/4" LOP on a 20-ga. Repro, have you?

Hello Greg, I have not seen a 14 3/4" LOP on a 20-ga. but 28-4141 has a
15" LOP and 28" Bbls. (sst,bt,skbp,English grip)

15" on a single trigger gun?? That stock on a double trigger gun would be near 16". I wonder if that was a special order gun?

I can't say I've ever seen a DT 14 3/4" 20 gauge, but here's a couple of pictures of my 14 3/4" LOP DT 12 gauge duck gun:

I've read more than once that Straight, i.e., English gripped guns generally have a longer LOP than pistol gripped ones. Single vs double trigger isn't the determining factor. Could be an urban myth, but that's the information that I've seen.

I have a 20/16/16 set with Pistol Grip Stock and a 14 15/16" LOP.

That may generally be the case when having a gun custom fitted --if-- the location of the front trigger of a DT gun and the trigger of a ST gun are in the same position. Then consider what was reported in The Parker Story . . . "The stock dimensions and weights of the Reproductions were selected to have the most appeal to a hunter. Incidently, Skeuse specified the pull length of the Reproductions to be 14 3/8". Well, the Japanese made the guns exactly to that specification, but measured the pull from either the front trigger of two trigger guns or the single trigger of a gun so equipped. The single trigger on the Reproduction was located in the same position as the rear trigger on a two trigger gun. Thus, the single trigger Reproductions may have a pull length that is a little too long for some shooters."

I have a Repro. 20ga., DT, PG, SFE, 28" M&F. Bought NIB, w/case, during the final liquidation. The ser.# is P00288. It is as built and is unaltered.
Measured some years ago by Glen, at Woodcock Hill, Inc. :
Pull 15" (to front trigger), cast off 1/8", drop at comb 1.5", drop at middle 1.75", drop at heel 2.25".

Wow, that gun must have been sitting around the warehouse for a while.
