Parker 159582 w/engraving

I have a Parker 159582 hammerless 12G double from 1912 that has a ton of engraving on it. Bird dogs on the sides, ducks or geese undeneath and the serial number on the trigger gaurd. I know its hard to grade a gun without seeing it, but does anyone have a price range for this model ? I might be interested in selling it.

Thanks,
Jeb

Without pictures or some additional detail it is impossible to even guess. There is a section on this forum that shows all the grades. I would start there. If you can't post pictures post the grade, condition of barrels, barrel length, wood configuration and condition, condition of case colors, gauge, etc. The more you provide the more you'll get back.

Thanks !

Jason, if it has only one dog on each side it is likely to be a Grade 3 or DH but if it has two dogs on each side it will be a Grade 5 or 6 - BH or AH

Thanks Dean,
It only has one dog on each side and a butt plate was added to the stock. Any idea what it might be worth, I got an offer of $800 yesterday from a dealer.

Dean Romig 07-21-2010 09:41 AM

Jason, we'd have to see pictures at the very least but my first impression is that $800 is way low for a D-grade Parker.

The serialization book has it listed as T13 a D grade 12 gage with 28" barrels and a capped pistol grip. Like Dean said $800.00 seems way too low unless the gun is a wall hanger. If you get some pictures posted someone will give you an idea of it's value.

Thanks ! I will try to get some pics posted soon, it has been just hanging on the wall for years, but looks like it would clean up pretty good. I don't want to part with it for $800, but will if its worth more.

It's worth more.

Dean Romig 07-22-2010 10:42 AM

When anyone on this forum makes reference to a "Wall Hanger" we mean a gun that is unsafe to shoot and/or would cost more to restore than the gun would be worth after restoration..... yours is in neither category.
