The Parker Story

I remember years ago when I mailed a check for the purchase of the deluxe leather bound edition of the soon to be printed two volume set called "The Parker Story". It seemed to take forever to receive volume one. I remember becoming impatient as to why would these books take so long to print. Well, after owning and using them for all these years, I know first hand why it took so long to complete. After continuously depending on them for an answer to constant questions that arise regarding the Parker shotgun or related Parker items, the answer seems to always be in one of the two volumes. Yesterday I wanted to file all my Parker catalogs in chronological order. Sure enough, there is a section on catalogs and all the answers were there to exactly date each of my 10 catalogs.
My gun library includes all the major books written about American double shotguns. Not one of them is even close to being as detailed and informative as TPS. In fact, investigating a question regarding the other American brands usually isn't very successful.
I just want to say thanks to all the authors and people involved in the creation of TPS. It is an amazing accomplishment and one to be very proud of.

“The Parker Story” is and has always been my bible when it comes to anything ‘Parker” with EDM’s books filling in some gaps here and there.

You're welcome Wayne.

How hard would it be to get a digitized version produced? I know I would buy one. I can imagine paying the same list price the paper edition carries.

I want it for easy reference when a question comes up. Also, it qualifies as reading for fun and entertainment.

Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the information to tell me where things stand with respect to copyrights in the The Parker Story. Copyrights is a thicket in the law I do not venture into - too many thorns for the initiated to get poked with and then hung up on.

I am glad at least one other person has at least considered the possibility of an electronic edition.

I will wish an electronic edition had been contemplated. I know there are classic movies and TV shows I want to see, but they cannot be released or new music has to replace the original just because the boilerplate in the paperwork listing permitted uses for music in the original predated the technology that is common today.
