brass for 10

Does anybody know where to get some brass hulls for less than 7.50 a pop. ch

I thought Magtech did, but this is what is on their website. $7.50 - ouch.

Q: Magtech makes many Brass Shotshell gauges, are there plans to produce the 10 gauge?
A: As of January 2006, Magtech makes the 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, and 36 (410) in unprimed brass shotshells. We do have plans to make the 10 gauge; however, the release date has not been announced.

They've been saying that about the 10 gauge shells for years. I wish they would, I'd love to have some. I see old ones for sale all the time for a lot less than $7.50 each but I don't know as you could find any primers to work in them.

The ones to get would be the Alcan brand 10 gauge brass, they're a lot more modern, but you just never see those unfortunately.

All the Alcan I have take the old #57 Remington primers that can sometimes be found at gunshows. The Magtech take the large pistol primers. If you can find some of the hammer double brass (out of business) they take a 209 primer. You can usually get the old brass for around $4 each, even the Winchesters (parker are a lot more). I think that most of the old ones take a large pistol primer. I have stayed away from the berdan primed brass because of primer removal and finding berdan primers, which are also found now and then.

Good luck,

Rocky Mountain Cartridge lists 10ga, 2&5/8" @ $73; and, 2&7/8" @ $75 for a box of 10. These are machined brass cases taking 209 primers, not drawn, balloon head cases like Magtech.
