A buffered receiver

Any tips or trick in dulling a buffer receiver?

A few little things that you can try to see what looks best to you.

Cold blue in light applications and carded off.

Bluing remover will actually dull the metal a little bit.

Vinegar is more caustic and fast acting. It is one of the methods used to get a french gray.

Prep it out right and re-case it.

What is a buffer receiver?

Originally buffed, misspelled it in the title!

A common problem with a buffed receiver is that often the engraving loses it's sharpness and requires re-cutting of the engraving.
