SBT Fore-end question
Parker SBT 177051 was ordered in February of 1917. The gun was ordered “ Do not give finger grooves.” Does anyone have an earlier production SBT that has a fore-end with finger grooves? Chuck and I were discussing this and he hasn’t seen a SBT with finger grooves.

Nor have I. Wondering if someone saw the illustration in an advertisement and was afraid that was what they were going to get? Maybe they wanted to head it off at the pass? Or perhaps for a very brief time Parker actually offered such a forend? We won't know till somebody finds one. Investigation continues.

If I'm not mistaken, Parker Bros. introduced their SBT in 1917 so I imagine if any existed at all they would have been produced in 1917.
I have never seen one either. . |
It has come ip here a few times before. The first factory ads showing the gun, show finger grooves. But nobody here has been able to produce photos of a gun with one. I would think they had to have been made that way for a short time at the start of production.
