Few Q’s on Parker Trojans
Was curious to see how Trojan stocks were finished, I would imagine not a lot time was spent on finishing, but were the pores originally filled or was it just a coat of shellac and out the door it went?
Thanks guys! |
They were finished in the same manner and level as any of the other guns for the most part. Based on my observations, the finish on them was the same as any other V, P or G grade.

Awesome, thank you!!

Pretty sure they used monocoat right there in Meriden.

Tempting!!! I will say, I do like it, especially the smell!
|
Seems like it wouldnt gum up the checkering but then again, ive never smelled it.

monocoat, minus the capitalized "M", must be a generic one coat something or other, not such a bad choice if the wood is prepared well underneath. With a capital "M", it is well known as a wood finish. Whatever they used on my high condition Trojans, it is a pretty elegant looking finish, not different from the V grades. How durable, I don't know.
