Grouse and West Nile in PA

i found this very informative - fair warning - its science  - a bit dry and technical

but still, I learned a lot. And I expect the impact if not the action plan is not limited to PA

and a lot of it, as the presenter says - still is habitat

West Nile wiped out the crows in this area several years ago. They've recovered somewhat but nothing like they were before the disease.

I live in SE Ohio, each winter northern crows have invaded, at night in and around Zanesville there are many, many thousands of the crows roosting---
Now too find the time to hunt:):):

Sadly no grouse like we had in the 1980s-1990s

I'm talking about SE Michigan not SE Ohio. We didn't hardly see a crow around here for two years after a big West Nile outbreak. I picked it up myself from getting bit up by mosquitoes at the gun club. It nearly killed me too, I had a 105 temperature for five days.
