Hunting on the Altamaha

These photos are from a year ago. With a little luck, we will go again this weekend. No ducks on this trip, but the scenery and company were great.
I was shooting a GH 12 gauge with 32 inch barrels which will be featured in an upcoming Parker Pages article. |
really like the pictures of the boys going with you hunting....charlie

We went this Saturday. Arrived around 4:15 AM and checked in. Went to put on our waders and found out I had grabbed Julia's set and they wouldn't fit. Went back to check in and said take us out, we had the wrong waders. DNR guy said "how about you use mine, I have them in the truck?" So we did and had a good time despite no ducks. It was freezing snd below 33 degrees the whole time. Harry wanted to go to the Waffle House. I told him the Waffle House always tastes best after duck hunting. He later agreed I was right about that.
I tell this story to recognize the folks who work at Butler Island and to remind us there are some truly great folks who work for the government, even when there are many who are not |
I just wanna know one thing ! How can a duck hunter with ties to South Carolina NOT have a Boykin Spaniel ? For shame for shame LOL's
