Meriden SBT
I recently acquired a Meriden Hammerless Single barrel trap Gun. The cocking slide in the barrel lug is missing and therefore the gun will not cock when the barrel is opened. I have been looking for that part or a good picture of that part so that I can make the gun whole again. If anyone has one of these or an A.J. Aubry hammerless single shot and is willing to take a picture or two I would greatly appreciate it. I would also be willing to buy a complete "parts" gun. Even a paten drawing would work if I could find the patent.
Thanks, Jack |
Does it look like this one?

No,
The one pictured at the Meriden site has an external hammer which wouldn't have a cocking slide. Mine is hammerless. Thanks for the reply. |

there is an ad in that Meriden Arms site page that shows the hammerless model. I think I have a hammerless single ( not a TRAP model) in my racks and will check later today. If so I will take pictures and maybe dimensions. John |
Hi John,
Thanks for your reply! It shouldn't matter if it is a trap model or not. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Jack |
Jack,
My example is a hammerless. It is still in as found condition and quite dirty. If you will PM me with your email address I will send you some pictures. I did not have time to disassemble the cocking bar to get dimensions but possibly can at a later time if needed. The mechanism is very similar to the sliding cocking bar in the A.H. Fox, Baltimore Arms and 3rd model SyracuseArms doubles. The sliding bar goes forward under spring tension when the forend is removed. The forend has a bar extension that mates the sliding cocker.
