Hello
I now have a Parker. And could use a bit of help figuring out exactly what it is. This is what I think it may be. Dollar Grade-- what dollar grade? Parker Back-Action Lifter 12 gauge Damascus Steel Water Table markings and serial # F.9.R. #A 1134 Attachment 125183 Attachment 125184 Attachment 125185 Attachment 125186 Attachment 125187 Thanks for the help |
I checked in the research tool on the home page and it indicates there are no factory records available for your gun. They had no set grades at that time and quite honestly they probably had only a loose standard grade. They came with decarbonized steel or damascus barrels; and back or front action locks. Your gun has l the better barrels, the less expensive locks and pretty average looking wood. It is what it is: a very early and quite rare (given the limited production in the early years) Parker double. It appears to be in nice condition for the age and is a gun desired by collectors in order to fill out a collection. They don't demand really high prices due to the basic nature of the early gun itself and the early design characteristics. However, it is a nice example and a gun a lot of collectors would like to own to fill a niche.

The bamascus barrels would be the tell on what grade the gun technically is. On the lower grade guns the only major differences was the barrel steel type.

That is a nice back action lifter! In good shape too! What is the barrel length out of curiosity?
Most back actions I see are well used and not in the best shape. You have a nice one. |
