High Plains Dove Opener

Hot and no cold front to push birds south so working the local birds only. Still hunting was fine and a good start to the season.

Nice. Great pics. Those are some cool looking snake boots that are rivaling Mark Ray's

Very nice! My nephew and I had a great first weekend here in Oklahoma, lots of birds and good weather. My VH 16 ga didn't let me down. I used my high dollar Italian 12 ga SXS Sat and the Parker Sunday. Even with the 2 1/2" low pressure 16 ga RST's, my kill rate was much better with the Parker. Wish I could find some 16 ga non toxic shells to use on federal reserves where lead shot is not allowed.

Bruce, I think I bought some of that Goat Weed at a gas station bathroom dispensary.
Michael Kitterman, Richard Flanders just posted a link to Rio shotgun shells. I thought I saw bismuth loaded in 16 gauge. Also, RST has 16 ga bismuth shells. That would be my choice. |
