Good read Frank. I can't even fathom 25 birds per man as one now is lucky to bag 25 in a season.

I have a Parker 20ga consigned to a Guy Lovelace a shooter of note. Here is an article I found describing dove hunting on his ranch in Dinuba.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that his 20-gauge A1 Special was lost when Pachmayr shipped it to their engraver in West Germany to have the engraving picked up.

I sent Kevin McCormack a picture of Edwin Hedderly on a hunt with his 32" 16 gauge. I kept a copy, but have no idea how to find it. Maybe Kevin will post it.

Regarding the disposition of these 2 A-1s, here is part of the text of a lengthy post I made back in 2015, answering a member's queries on "all things Hedderly."

The last time I spoke with Larry Baer before his death (RIP) he told me that the gun pictured on the 1966 Guns and Ammo cover was never sent to Germany and was ultimately sold (by Baer) to a man in Salt Lake City. Only the 20 gauge was sent to Krieghoff in Germany to have the barrels repaired (and if not possible, rebarreled) after (presumably) one of Hedderly's "ultimate possibilies" hand loads bulged the 3-inch !) chambers of one barrel. This gun disappeared in Germany and has never been traced. When I asked Larry about his theory on the ultimate disposition of the gun, he said, "Some farmer in Bavaria is probably shooting crows and barn pigeons with it right now."
