Early Superposed
 

I shoot my Superposes on a regular bases and for a over and under it's my favorite. Mine get utilized 2-3 times every week for wobble, bunker and some sporting clays, but the last thing I needed was another Superposed. However the disease which many of us shot-gunners struggle with on a regular bases is just "one" more!!!
I'm happy to report I lost the struggle recently and purchased a very early 30 inch, solid rib, 12 gauge with a serial number of 70XX in excellent condition with double triggers! Friend has owned the gun for multiple years and I was finally able to purchase the gun!!! Sporting course is calling my name on Saturday!!!

Is it a real double trigger gun or a "double-single" trigger? I have both and love them.

I’ve been contemplating a double trigger Superposed as well as a double trigger Remington 32 . I only have eight Superposed but there’s a couple or so I’d like to add . Of course a double trigger in any configuration , a 26 1/2” 12 in IC/M and a 26 1/2” 20 gauge in IC/M but late enough to have 3” chambers . My two Superposed 20’s are both 2 3/4” ones a 26 1/2” skeet the others a 28” solid rib circa 1951 field that’s M/F . As to the double trigger barrel length and choke makes no difference as long as it’s in good shape , the four or five double triggers I’ve had my hands on were all rather rough .

What is a double single trigger? Thx

A "double-single" is a double trigger that can fire first barrel first, second barrel second, with the double pull of either trigger. Front trigger fires lower barrel first, upper barrel second, with two pulls of the same trigger. Pulling the rear trigger fires upper barrel first, lower barrel second, with two pulls of the same trigger. You can also pull either trigger once, followed by a single pull of the other trigger, same sequence as a normal double trigger. Many "double-single" trigger guns are in the hands of shooters who don't know what they have until they accidentally pull the same trigger twice. Complicated as they may sound, every one that has come my way has worked flawlessly.

True double trigger.

The double single is an inertia trigger. If dry firing then pull the front trigger and then hit the butt with your hand forcefully or lightly bounce the butt on the floor. This will set the trigger for the second barrel. You might find that you do in fact have a double single.

Good post, Patrick. Live firing is more fun and less likely to break the stock. Say "HI" to "Long Range" and try to get him to post some good hunting stories.

Now start looking for a nice pre-war Browning case for your new Superposed. They come in 28", 30", and 32".
