setter?

Where can I find a setter like the hansome tri-color on the cover of the latest Shooting Sportsman.

Dean Romig 05-11-2018 07:20 AM

Contact Legh and Jenn Higgins, owners of Coronation Kennels in Lowell, Vt.

That's where my Grace came from and also where the sire to Grace's recent litter of 8 came from.
Unless they're all pre-sold I think they will be expecting a litter in a few months.

I got my tri-color male from Lloyd Murray at Long Gone Setters in Stark, NH: http://www.longgonesetters.com/index.html

Jack is from Long Gone Buckwheat x Grouse Ridge Ivy.

That's interesting - "The road was long, but he knew where he was going..." is taken from "Tinkhamtown" by Corey Ford. Both of Ford's setters Tober and Cider were from Earl Twombly's Coronation Kennels.

Yes, it is also Corey's epitaph on his grave marker. I took my youngest setter to visit with Corey not too long ago.

Corey Ford is my favorite outdoor author. I've put together a collection of all his published works. Mostly first editions, many are signed. I'd like to get a Twombly setter some day.

Highland Llewellin’s in Mechanicsburg, IL, JD Waters and Caren Mansfield. They purchased Glen Roark’s kennel 10 or so years ago. This is Highland Maximus Wind’em aka Max, my 3 year old Lewellin.

A handsome boy, your Max.

I agree with Rick that pose of Max the setter & pheasant would make a nice painting. J.J.
